A Harrisburg man was robbed and then shot when he had nothing in his wallet to give the robbers. It happened just after midnight the 1800 block of Swatara Street. The victim and his friend were walking when they were attacked by two men who demanded their valuables. One of the robbers pointed a handgun at the victims. One victim turned over $8 cash and his wallet. His friend had nothing to give the robbers. The robbers checked the wallet and threw it back when they saw nothing was in it.  When the victim turned to walk away, the robber fired a shot into the ground near him.  The robber then shot the man in the buttocks.  The injured man was taken to the Hershey Medical Center for treatment.

The suspects are described as:

1. Black male, about 5’7” tall, medium build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and armed with a handgun

2. Black male, about 5’10” tall, thin, light complexion and wearing a lime green hooded sweatshirt

Shortly afterwards, suspects matching the above description burst into a  home on the 400 block of South 16th Street. Again, one of the robbers, the short one, had a handgun. The victim told police the robber held the gun to his head.  The robbers demanded money.  The victim, a 64 year-old man, said he didn’t have any money and then grabbed for the gun.  A violent struggle ensued and the armed robber dropped the handgun.  During the struggle, one of the robbers grabbed the gun from the floor and both robbers ran out.  The victim suffered contusions.  Nothing was taken from the victim.
