Motorcycle riders will hit the road Thursday morning for America's 911 Ride, to remember the tragic events during the 9/11 terror attacks, and the lives lost on September 11, 2001. The event is the longest police-escorted ride in the world.

After meeting in at Park City Center in Lancaster bikers will head to Gettysburg where they will meet with a group from Virginia. The group will then head to Somerset, which is the official starting point.

For the ride, hundreds of motorcyclists will travel to each of the three 9/11 crash sites. Each rider will get the name of someone who perished to ride with them through their journey.

Throughout the year America's 911 Foundation raises money for the ride and provides scholarships to children of active first responders.
