Jeremy Tanner, Smithtown (WPIX) — Four people were hurt after a driver lost control and slammed into a pediatric doctor’s office in Smithtown Tuesday afternoon.
Injured in the crash were the driver, a 74-year-old woman, and three people inside the building, according to the Suffolk County Police Department. The people hurt in the office include a female employee, a mother and the woman’s 9-year-old son.
Police say the car slammed into the side of the doctor’s office at 300 Middle Country Road just after 4:20 p.m.
All four people were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital. The injuries are described as minor.
The car was pulled out of the building and electricity was cut off.
A police investigation is ongoing.
