According to state police in Chambersburg , Kristine Ruth Williamson, 49, of Hardy, Virginia, is the only deceased person being identified at this time. Two others from a second vehicle that was involved, will be identified after notification of next of kin.
Police say around 11:15 a.m., the unidentified driver of a 2014 Chevorlet Spark was driving north on I-81 in the right hand lane. At the same time, Kristine and Stephen Charles Williamson, 52, of Hardy, Virginia, were traveling in a 2012 Toyota Camry in the right southbound lane on I-81.
For unspecified reasons, the Spark left the right hand lane in a northwest direction, crossed into the median and entered the southbound lanes of Interstate 81, police said.

The Camry was pushed onto the western shoulder where it came to a final rest, police said.
Upon impact, the Spark became airborne, struck an embankment and caught fire, police said.
Both occupants of the Spark were pronounced dead at the scene.

State Police were assisted on scene by the Franklin County Coroner’s Office, Greencastle-Antrim Rescue Hose Company, Hagerstown Ambulance and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
