MONKTON, MARYLAND–A 16-year-old boy died Saturday at York Hospital following an ATV accident in Maryland last week.
Misael Masarigos-Castillo, of Pikesville, Maryland, had been working as a landscaper on a property in Monkton, Maryland when the accident happened Friday, according to the York County Coroner’s office.
Authorities say Masarigos-Castillo was driving an ATV when he lost control and it rolled over. A neighbor who witnessed the accident called 911. The teen was taken to York Hospital and underwent emergency surgery on Saturday. He died in the operating room, the coroner said.
The teens parents reportedly live in Guatemala–but he had been living in Maryland with family members.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating since the accident happened while he was working on a job site.
His death has been ruled accidental.
