HAMPDEN TOWNSHIP, CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa — Fourteen people are displaced after an apartment complex fire in Cumberland County according to The Red Cross.

Emergency dispatchers say that crews were called to the 4300 block of Carlisle Pike just after 11:30 p.m. on Friday night.

According to Hampton Volunteer Fire Company Deputy Chief Jerry Ozog, a resident heard popping sounds coming from an electrical box in the laundry room, and was able to put the fire out with an extinguisher before crews arrived.

Ozog says the fire did extend into the walls and caused a lot smoke.

Crews remained on scene for about 2 hours.

Nobody was injured.

The Red Cross is assisting ten adults and 4 children who were displaced by the fire.
