As America honors its heroes, many locations are offering deals and freebies to veterans.

Here’s our list of available deals around our area:

Humane League of Lancaster County – Veterans Day free adoption event sponsored by Synergy Auto Sales.

Veterans wishing to adopt a dog, cat or critter will have the adoption fee waived from Saturday, November 9 and Monday, November 11. The Humane League of Lancaster is open from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and is at 2195 Lincoln Highway East in Lancaster.

Planet Fitness – Gyms across the country offering veterans and active military personnel the chance to work out for free for a week, beginning Friday, November 8 and running through Friday, November 15. In addition, veterans and active military personnel can bring a workout buddy with them at no additional charge and relax after they work out with free HydroMassage and chair massages.

Primanti Bros. – All active or retired military can enjoy a free Primanti Bros. Almost Famous sandwich in honor of their service to America, Sunday, Nov. 10 and Monday, Nov. 11, at all Primanti Bros. locations across six states.

Sheetz – On Monday, November 11, 2019, Sheetz invites all veterans and active duty military personnel to enjoy a free 6 inch turkey sub and a regular size fountain drink at any of Sheetz’s 596 store locations. Sheetz locations offering car washes will also provide a free car wash to veterans and active duty military. Military ID or proof of service must be presented to qualify.

Texas Roadhouse – All veterans, including all active, retired, or former U.S. military, can choose one of 10 entrees from our special Veterans Day menu, including a 6-ounce sirloin and two made-from-scratch sides plus a choice of any Coca-Cola product, sweet tea/iced tea or coffee during lunch on November 11. Proof of service includes military or VA card, or discharge papers.

Denny’s – As an ongoing tradition and to thank America’s veterans for their endless service and dedication, Denny’s is inviting all active, inactive and military personnel into participating Denny’s locations nationwide to enjoy a complimentary Build Your Own Grand Slam breakfast from 5 a.m. to noon on Veteran’s Day. One of Denny’s signature breakfast entrees, the Build Your Own Grand Slam includes a choice of four delicious items to truly make it your own.  And with over 13 choices –such as fluffy buttermilk pancakes, eggs cooked to order, bacon strips, buttermilk biscuits, hash browns and oatmeal – there is something for everyone. The offer is valid for dine-in only from 5 a.m. to noon with a valid military ID or DD 214.

Chili’s – is offering veterans and active military members a free meal from a selection of menu items including Chicken Crispers, Margarita Grilled Chicken and Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas.

Applebee’s – also has active and retired military members covered with a free dine-in meal.

Cracker Barrel – is serving up a Southern homestyle holiday, thanking veterans with a complimentary Pumpkin Pie Latte or Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake. The Old Country Store will also be donating 10% of sales on select rocking chairs to the nonprofit Operation Homefront.

Golden Corral – Military Appreciation Night, anybody who has served in the military can get a free “thank you” dinner.

IHOP – is making sure veterans and active military can enjoy a free red, white and blueberry pancake combo.

Dunkin’ – is giving a sweet salute to its customers from the armed forces with a free donut of their choice.

Target – in-store or online to get a 10% discount. Don’t forget to get your discount coupon from their site, though.

Great Clips – will give a free haircut to veterans on this holiday. Don’t need a haircut right now? That’s cool. They’ll also hand out a free haircut card to be used at a later date.

Amazon – is giving veterans and active military a year of Amazon Prime for $79 (it’s usually $119).

The National Park Service invites veterans and their families to enjoy free entrance at its more than 400 national parks this Veterans Day. The free entrance does not cover amenity fees for activities such as camping, boat launches or tours.

Goodyear Auto Service’s “Free Checks for Vets” program is performing free checks on tires, brakes, alignment, shocks and struts, batteries and wiper blades for active and retired military. Plus, they will provide free tire installation for any tire purchase.

Red Lobster is thanking veterans, active duty military, and reservists by offering a FREE appetizer or dessert with a valid military ID on Monday, November 11.
