Originally from a small town called Park Ridge in northeastern New Jersey, Greg Perez is thrilled to be actively covering weather in Central Pennsylvania.
Greg became interested in meteorology during Elementary School, where he was able to cover local weather over the loudspeaker. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor’s of Science in Meteorology and a minor in Geography in Spring of 2019. While at Virginia Tech, Greg had the opportunity to intern with WNBC Storm Team 4 in New York City for two summers and with WSLS Storm Team 10 in Roanoke for one semester.
Upon graduating college, Greg took a Chief Meteorologist position with a small station in Great Falls, Montana. There, he had the incredible experience of covering everything from severe summer thunderstorms to minus sixty below wind chills! In the Summer of 2020, Greg moved to Spokane and became a Weekend Meteorologist at a station in the Pacific Northwest for a before moving back East.
In his free time, you can find Greg rooting for his Virginia Tech Hokies, playing some golf or spending time outdoors!
If you see Greg out and about give him a Go Hokies!
