NORTH CODORUS -
The Southwestern Regional Police Department is investigating an early morning hit and run accident that sent two people to the hospital.
Investigators say that shortly after one o'clock this morning a red Volkswagen Jetta with white European plates on the front bumper was traveling southbound in the 1400 block of Seven Valleys Road in North Codorus Township. The driver crossed into the northbound lane, striking a motorcycle. That's when police say the driver of the late 90's Volkswagen fled the scene.
The operator and passenger on the motorcycle were transported to York Hospital for serious injuries.
Police say the fleeing driver is believed to be a white male, around 6'2, thin build, wears glasses, and has short dirty blonde hair. The driver was wearing a gray t-shirt with the sleeves cut off. Police say the Jetta should have heavy passenger side damage.
Tipped off by an annonymous caller, Southwestern Regional Police were able to apprehend the suspect around 12:45pm today.
