SPRINGETTSBURY, YORK COUNTY - Law enforcement agencies from all over York County were meeting at the Emergency Services Center Tuesday. Members were getting an update on the county's Missing Child Task Force.

"We basically wanted to get the multi-jurisdiction together and put a plan together to be able to offer this to york county," said York County Sheriff Richard Keuerleber.

The task force started in 2006 and has already been put into full swing. In August of 2008, they spent 12 hours searching for a missing 8-year-old boy in Delta, York County.

"When something like that happens, it's usually organized panic. We had a system where we can very methodically work through it and do everything we can to return that child to their family and resolve these cases as quickly as possible," said Springettsbury Township Police Chief David Eshbach.

Time if the big factor. According to the Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the first three hours are critical when it comes to saving a child's life.

Only six task forces in the country have the national certification. York County is one of the 200 teams training right now.
