EAST HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, LANCASTER COUNTY -
Turkeys are running wild through one neighborhood in Lancaster County, and some folks don't seem to mind.
Turkeys took up residence in a neighborhood on Donnerville Road, in East Hempfield Township.
Neighbors say the two tom turkeys like to peer into basement windows, sleep on cars and camp out alongside roadways... but they never seem to be bothered by the traffic.
"I think we're very protective of them. Our neighbors put up "turkey crossing" signs, and we keep watch, and I try to shoo them off the road whenever possible," says Jody Cranford, who lives in the neighborhood.
Neighbors say the turkeys have been living in the area for more than two months.
