HALIFAX TOWNSHIP, DAUPHIN COUNTY -
The owner of one Dauphin County business is showing her World Series spirit with an enormous pumpkin.
The Atlantic Giant pumpkin at Retherford's Pumpkin Patch along Peters Mountain Road is carved with the logos of the Phillies and Yankees to celebrate this year's Fall Classic.
The pumpkin weighed 900 lbs. before it went under the knife. It's part of a massive display celebrating both teams in the World Series. Tiny Yankees and Phillies painted pumpkins surround the behemoth.
Pumpkin carver Sarah Retherford says showcasing both teams is a smart business move.
"I figured I should do both," Retherford says. "I'm staying neutral right now. I would have preferred one versus the other, but I won't report which one that is," she says with a laugh.
"It's awesome. I think it's great," says customer Joy Breach of Millersburg. "She did a great job with it."
The Atlantic Giant is just one of 20 varieties of pumpkins at Retherford's. An enormous carved pumpkin is an annual tradition at the Halifax Township business.
