CENTRE TOWNSHIP, PERRY COUNTY -
A vehicle runs over, drags, and kills a man along Jericho Road in Centre Township.
It happened just before 1:30 p.m. when the vehicle driven by James Lightner, 45, of Newport, illegally parked along the westbound lane of the roadway, Pennsylvania State Police in Newport say.
Lightner stood outside the driver's side of his truck. Arthur Sankey, 79, of New Bloomfield, struck Lightner and his vehicle as he drove behind the truck.
Michael Hoak, with the Perry County Coroner's Office, pronounced Lightner dead at the scene.
Sankey and the three children in Lightner's truck did not get hurt.
Sankey will not face charges in the crash, police say.
