Cop Catches Predator on the Prowl
West York, York County - Police say a registered sex offender tries to strike in a York County neighborhood. Fortunately, a cop comes to the rescue.

West York Police Officer Scott Musselman was on a routine patrol of the streets, when he witnessed first hand, a sexual predator on the prowl.

"The boy looked really scared, really timid, he was putting his hands in the air like he was really confused, he didn't know what was going on," said Officer Musselman.

The 13 year old boy was being approached by Michael Rozankowski. Police say the 54 year old was making sexual gestures and trying the lure the teen into his car. When Rozankowski noticed Officer Musselman, he backed down and took off.

"He actually sped this way, didn't even come to a stop for the stop sign, made a right on Herman, at which point I stopped him," said Officer Musselman.

Rozankowski is already registered on the Megan's Law website for indecent assault in 1998. He is now back behind bars. Parents in the neighborhood say they are breathing a sigh of relief.

"The cops were on point and I'm just glad they got him," said Nick Karst, parent.

"With having an 11 year old, it is really scary," said Eric Wilt, parent.

"I told her, absolutely do not talk to nobody, do not get in nobody's car, run and scream and get your cell phone," said Kathy Topper, grandparent.

As for Officer Musselman, he says he is just thankful he was in the right place at the right time.

"Who knows where the guys next stop was, it could have been a park full of kids, it could have been anywhere around here," said Musselman.

Police want to remind parents to talk to their kids about stranger danger.

Rozankowski is facing several charges including luring a child into a motor vehicle, stalking, and harrassment.
