Emergency crews say the helicopter clipped a statue on the golf course before it crashed to the ground.

The pilot suffered minor injuries in the crash and was transported to Lancaster General Hospital. He was the only person on board when the helicopter crash-landed.

Pennsylvania State Police said the helicopter was attempting to make a special landing for a fundraising tournament at the golf course.

One eye-witness who helped pull the pilot to safety said he didn't appear to be hurt that bad.

"He had a major gash on his nose, but he was in excellent shape considering we was just in a helicopter crash," said Lewis James of Maryland.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NSTB) are investigating the cause of the crash.

Several fire crews also responded to the scene.
