This time around, they want amateurs, passionate foodies or just the ultimate dinner party host or hostesses. No professionals allowed.

MasterChef is already a hit in Australia and England, where it's been on the air since 1990. In the U.S. version, Ramsay will act as a mentor to each contestant, helping to develop their cooking skills. Those skills will be judged by well-known food experts. MasterChef is being produced by the same company responsible for The Biggest Loser. Taping begins March 15 in Los Angeles.

There are some rules to take note of. You should arrive with a completed application and a dish meant to wow the casting crew. Auditions are noon-6 p.m., Sunday, at the Coral Gables Whole Foods Market, 6701 Red Road.
