On a recent Thursday, volunteers from Eden, Neffsville, and Southern Manheim Township Fire Companies spent the day training on both fire apparatus and vehicle apparatus. They fired up a propane simulator and worked on their teamwork skills. In another area, they used tools and the jaws of life to rip apart a car as if an accident victim was inside.

It's important for the volunteer firefighters to work on all different types of training, since they can be called to just about anything. In fact, 28% of the calls received in Manheim Township are for auto related incidents.
