LANCASTER, LANCASTER COUNTY -
A Norfolk-Southern train derailed in Lancaster County around 1:00 p.m. Friday, forcing Amtrak to suspend service in Central PA for the time being. The train derailed just west of the Lancaster train station on McGovern Street.
Amtrak Service between Lancaster and Harrisburg was suspeneded immediately and may last into Saturday. The tracks remain closed off as crews are on the scene, investigating and clearing up the train.
Limited bus services were available to those traveling between Lancaster and Harrisburg. No road traffic was affected.
