JACKSON TOWNSHIP, LANCASTER COUNTY -
A car crash along State Route 422 in Jackson Township claims the lives of two women. It happened around 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the area of the 600 block of West Lincoln Avenue.
A preliminary investigation shows Susan Morris, 54, of Lebanon, drove west in the eastbound lane and crashed head-on into the car driven by Lena Bashore, 72, of Richland, who drove east in the eastbound lane, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Jonestown.
Both drivers died at the scene from their injuries. Neither woman wore a seatbelt.
State Route 422 was shut down for about two hours while police investigated the crash.
