HARRISBURG - A single car crash claims the life of a 27-year-old West Shore man. It happened along Interstate 83 southbound in Dauphin County, close to exit 43 in Harrisburg, around 4:15 a.m. Witnesses say a man drove at a high rate of speed, lost control of his car, flipped it over, was thrown from and pinned underneath the vehicle.

The man died at the scene due to head trauma, police say. The roadway reopened around 5:30 a.m. The victim's identity will not be released until his family is notified. The coroner will perform tests to determine if alcohol was a factor in the crash. The victim did not wear his seat belt.
