CHANCEFORD TOWNSHIP, YORK COUNTY -
A fatal accident involving an ATV claims the life of one young girl and sends another with severe head trauma to the hospital. It happened shortly after 3 o'clock along the 300 block of Sechrist Flat road in Chanceford Township, just outside of Felton.
State Police say the driver of the Yamaha for unknown reasons lost control, went off the shoulder of the roadway and struck a fence. The 15 year old driver and her 14 passenger were both thrown from the ATV. The driver was pronounced dead as a result of head trauma at the scene by the county coroner. The passenger was taken to York Hospital suffering from sustained head trauma.
The accident is being investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police.
