MECHANICSBURG, CUMBERLAND COUNTY -
Last month Upper Allen Police responded to a home on Dewberry Court for a domestic assault. Their investigation revealed that 77 year old John DiFonzo, Junior had attempted to suffocate his wife with a pillow. The victim fought back so DiFonzo then tried to choke him. His wife fled to a neighbor's house and called the police.
DiFonzo eventually surrendered to officers and admitted to the assault. He was taken to a local hospitaly for treatment of injuries. An arrest warrant was obtained for DiFonzo who voluntarily surrendered to police Thursday after being released from medical treatment.
He was arraigned by District Judge Mark Martin and bail was set at $100,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 9, before District Judge Mark Martin.
