Vick back in Suffolk, settles claim with NFL team
Former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick and the Atlanta Falcons have settled a claim in the incarcerated quarterback's bankruptcy case, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported this morning.

Vick is back in Hampton Roads. A spokesperson for Tidewater Regional Jail tells Newschannel 3 that Vick arrived yesterday around 3:15 p.m.

The Journal-Constitution reports that Vick -- the Newport News native currently serving a prison sentence in Leavenworth, Kan., related to a dogfighting ring run on his property in Surry County -- has agreed to pay the NFL team between $6.5 million and $7.5 million to settle the claim.

The Falcons charged that Vick breached his contract when he was convicted of financing the dogfighting operation, and the NFL's special master awarded the team a $20 million claim. That figure was later prorated and reduced to $3.75 million by U.S. District Court Judge David Doty. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution cites an unnamed team source saying the two sides have settled for a number in between.

Vick is scheduled to be in federal court in Newport News on Friday for a hearing in bankruptcy court. Jail officials would not say how long Vick will be in Suffolk.
