Rock Bands Daughtry and Lynyrd Skynrd to Perform on 'NEW YEARS EVE LIVE' ON FOX43

Chart-topping rock bands Daughtry and Lynyrd Skynyrd are set to perform on NEW YEAR’S EVE LIVE airing Wednesday, Dec. 31 (11:00 PM-12:30 AM ET live; CT/MT/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.

Spike Feresten of TALKSHOW WITH SPIKE FERESTEN and Mark Thompson of HOLE IN THE WALL will host from the bright lights of the Las Vegas Strip and lead the count down to 2009. The evening will feature performances by David Cook, Daughtry, Scott Weiland and Lynyrd Skynyrd, as well as a death-defying motorcycle jump by daredevil Robbie Knievel.

Feresten will be joined by special correspondent Chrissy Russo of KSWB/FOX 5 San Diego for special interviews and a behind-the-scenes look at three of Cirque du Soleil’s Las Vegas shows “ZUMANITY, The Sensual Side of Cirque du Soleil,” “The Beatles LOVE” and the new “CRISS ANGEL® Believe™.” As 2008 comes to a close, the annual celebration will move to New York City to ring in the New Year with FOX News’ live coverage of the world-famous New Year’s Eve Ball making its descent into Times Square.

Hailing from North Carolina, Daughtry is a rock band formed and fronted by AMERICAN IDOL finalist Chris Daughtry in 2006. Their self-titled debut album was released that same year and reached No. 1 for two non-consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200, sold more than four million copies and was named the number one selling album of 2007 by Billboard. Their singles “It's Not Over” and “Home” both ranked in the Top 10 of the most-played songs on U.S. radio in 2007.

American rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd was formed in 1970 and is best known for their legendary hits “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Free Bird.” In 1977, a plane crash claimed the lives of several members including lead singer Ronnie Van Zant. The band reunited ten years later, and current members include Gary Rossington, Billy Powell, Rickey Medlocke, Ean Evans, Michael Cartellone, Mark Matejka and Johnny Van Zant, who replaced his older brother Ronnie. Lynyrd Skynyrd was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.

Criss Angel is recognized as one of the most provocative artists in the world and has single-handedly brought about a resurgence of magic in popular culture. He first became interested in magic at age seven, and as an adolescent studied mysticism, music, martial arts and dance. Angel is currently the star and creator of the cable series “Criss Angel Mindfreak.” He is the first five-time recipient of the coveted Magician of the Year Award and has also recently been named “Magician of the Decade” by the International Magicians Society. He currently headlines the show “CRISS ANGEL Believe” live at Luxor Las Vegas.

Chrissy Russo is the weekday morning weather anchor on the San Diego FOX affiliate station KSWB where she maintains one of the market's highest "Q" ratings. She is also a reporter for the San Diego Padres' pre-game show.

Star-Studded Special Coincides with Organization’s Centennial

Nominations Announced Wednesday, January 7

Academy Award winner Halle Berry and critically acclaimed screenwriter/actor Tyler Perry will host the 40TH NAACP IMAGE AWARDS, broadcast live from Los Angeles’ historic Shrine Auditorium, Thursday, Feb. 12 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX. The star-studded event, which coincides with the NAACP’s 100th anniversary, is executive-produced by Vicangelo Bulluck and will kick off the organization’s year-long centennial celebration. Previously announced honorees include Former Vice President Al Gore and Dr. Wangari Muta Maathai, who will both receive the Chairman’s Award.

“We are extremely honored to have former Image Awards winners Ms. Halle Berry and Mr. Tyler Perry host this historic event,” said Image Awards Chairperson Clayola Brown. “Halle and Tyler have broken many barriers in the entertainment industry. In this historic centennial year, their successes remind us of the immense progress that has been made in the last 100 years and gives us continued hope for the progress that our nation will achieve in the future.”

“This year’s show will air February 12, which is the 100th Anniversary of the NAACP to the day,” added NAACP Hollywood Bureau Executive Director Vicangelo Bulluck, who serves as executive producer of the awards telecast. “This year's Image Awards is not just a special event, it is an historic occasion, and I hope all Americans will tune in. With Halle and Tyler as our hosts, I know our viewers are going to get a spectacular show.”

Nominations for the annual awards show that recognizes the artistic achievements of people of color and honors projects and individuals that promote diversity in the arts will be announced Wednesday, Jan. 7 in Los Angeles. Performers and presenters on the 40TH NAACP IMAGE AWARDS will be announced shortly.

Critics and filmgoers first took notice of Halle Berry in her feature film debut in Spike Lee’s “Jungle Fever,” and she then went on to star opposite Warren Beatty in the socio-political comedy “Bulworth.” For her brilliant performance in “Monster’s Ball”, she was honored with the Academy Award for Best Actress, the SAG Award, the Berlin Silver Bear Award, and was named Best Actress by the National Board of Review. Her other film credits include “Catwoman” and “Gothika,” the psychological thriller that helped cement her status as an international box-office draw. In 2002, Berry starred opposite Pierce Brosnan in “Die Another Day,” which celebrated the 40th anniversary of the James Bond franchise and went on to become the largest-grossing Bond film to date.

Other television credits include starring in the highly rated miniseries “Oprah Winfrey Presents: The Wedding,” directed by Charles Burnett, as well as the title role in Alex Haley’s miniseries “Queen.” The latter performance earned Berry her first NAACP Image Award for Best Actress. Berry earned an Emmy, a Golden Globe, a SAG Award and an NAACP Image Award for her extraordinary performance in “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge,” which she also produced. Berry is currently working on the psychological thriller “Frankie and Alice” alongside Stellan Skarsgård. The film, which Berry stars in and serves as producer, centers on a young woman afflicted with a multiple-personality disorder who struggles to remain her true self and not give in to her racist alter-ego.

Currently, Berry is an International Spokesperson for Revlon, and devotes considerable time and support to numerous charitable and humanitarian causes and organizations.

Tyler Perry’s inspirational journey from the hard streets of New Orleans to the heights of Hollywood’s A-list is the stuff of American legend. Born into poverty and raised in a household scarred by abuse, Tyler fought from a young age to find the strength, faith and perseverance that would later form the foundations of his much-acclaimed plays, films, books and television shows.

In early 2005, Tyler’s first feature film, “Diary of a Mad Black Woman,” debuted at No. 1 nationwide and received four NAACP Image Awards nominations. By 2007, Tyler expanded his reach to television with the series “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne,” the highest-rated original cable sitcom of all time and top-rated new daily series in broadcast syndication in fall 2008. Also, adding to his accomplishments, Perry recently opened Tyler Perry Studios which is the first African-American owned studio in the country.

In addition, he has been intimately involved in civil rights cases, including the trial of the Jena 6 in his home state of Louisiana, as well as with charities that focus on helping the homeless including America’s Second Harvest, the Atlanta Food Bank and Perry Place—a 20-home community in New Orleans that Tyler built for survivors of Hurricane Katrina. Perry practices what he preaches, and what he preaches has endeared him to millions of fans drawn to his unique blend of spiritual hope and down-home humor that shapes his inspiring life and extraordinary body of work.

FOX IS 'GLEE'FUL

FOX has ordered 13 episodes of GLEE, an inspiring musical comedy series from Ryan Murphy (“Nip/Tuck,” “Popular”). The one-hour series follows an optimistic high school teacher as he tries to transform the school’s Glee Club and inspire a group of ragtag performers to make it to the biggest competition of them all: Nationals. The show will debut in 2009 and features a soundtrack of hit songs from past to present.

McKinley High School's Glee Club used to be at the top of the show choir world, but years later, a series of scandals have turned it into a haven for misfits and social outcasts. WILL SCHUESTER (Matthew Morrison, Broadway’s “Hairspray”) has offered to take on the Herculean task of restoring the Glee Club to its former glory. Even with the help of fellow teacher EMMA PILLSBURY (Jayma Mays, “Ugly Betty”), it won’t be easy since the “brightest stars” of the pitch-imperfect club include KURT (Chris Colfer), a nerdy soprano with a flair for the dramatic; MERCEDES (Amber Riley), a dynamic diva-in-training who refuses to sing back up; ARTY (Kevin McHale, “True Blood”), a geeky guitarist who attracts more bullies than girls; and TINA (Jenna Ushkowitz, “Spring Awakening”), an awkward girl who needs to suppress her stutter before her center stage solo.

Will’s only hope lies with two true talents: RACHEL (Lea Michele, “Spring Awakening”), a perfectionist firecracker who is convinced show choir is her ticket to stardom; and FINN (Cory Monteith, “Kyle XY”), the popular high school quarterback with movie star looks and a Motown voice who must protect his cool reputation with his holier-than-thou girlfriend, QUINN (Dianna Agron), and his arrogant teammate, PUCK (Mark Salling).

Will is determined to do whatever it takes to make Glee great again, even though everyone around him thinks he's nuts. Get Ready to Share Your Voice with the Return of American Idol

American Idol is coming back this season with a new season, new contestants, and even a new judge! All this begins January 13th!

Voting begins February 17.

The wait is almost over for the return of television’s No. 1 show! Last season’s finale boasted a record-breaking nearly 100 million votes cast in the crowning of David Cook as the winner, and now, AMERICAN IDOL is set to return with a two-night, four-hour premiere event featuring extraordinary talent and outrageous new auditions Tuesday, Jan. 13 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Wednesday, Jan. 14 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

The eighth season kicks off with three weeks of audition episodes, featuring tryouts held in East Rutherford, NJ; Jacksonville, FL; Kansas City, MO; Louisville, KY; Phoenix, AZ; Salt Lake City, UT; San Francisco, CA; and San Juan, Puerto Rico. After the two-night premiere, auditions will continue for two weeks on Tuesday, Jan. 20 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) and Wednesday, Jan. 21 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT); and Tuesday, Jan. 27 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) and Wednesday, Jan. 28 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). The final audition episode will air Thursday, Jan. 29 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

The lucky auditioners who get the judges’ approval then move on to the “Hollywood Round” where contestants vie for a semifinalist position during the grueling next phase of the auditions. Extended for one week, the “Hollywood Round” episodes air: Tuesday, Feb. 3 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT); Wednesday, Feb. 4 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT); and Tuesday, Feb. 10 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). On Wednesday, Feb. 11 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), dreams come true for three dozen hopefuls, as Simon, Randy, Paula and Kara announce the Top 36 semifinalists.

It will then be up to America to decide who moves forward in the competition. For three consecutive Tuesdays including: Feb. 17 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), Feb. 24 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and March 3 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), 12 different semifinalists will perform each night in the hopes of moving on to the Top 12. Each week during the LIVE results shows airing Wednesdays: Feb. 18 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), Feb. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) and March 4 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), the three contestants with the highest number of America’s votes –one male, one female and the next top vote getter – will secure coveted spots in the Top 12.

Entertainment Weekly 25 Smartest People in TV Feature Story

It takes some pretty big brains to make it in the TV business, which is why this week’s Entertainment Weekly honored and ranked the smartest people in TV. They come from all corners of the industry – from execs to whiz kids to foulmouthed comedians. Entertainment Weekly polled Hollywood insiders to find out which 25 TV titans are behind the sharpest shows and deals around.

The top slot goes to Seth MacFarlane, who earns the $100 million that FOX is paying him to keep Family Guy and American Dad on Sundays through 2012, especially when you consider that Family Guy DVDs and merchandise have pulled in a reported $1 billion for 20th Century Fox. MacFarlane has also secured a full-season order for a Family Guy spin-off called The Cleveland Show, and still finds time to shoot his Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy Web shorts for a separate deal with Google.

Kitchen Nightmares Featured Restaurant Recipes

These recipes will dress up your party as much as they have for the restaurants Chef Gordon Ramsay has done for all the restaurants in Kitchen Nightmares.

J. WILLY’S
SWEET POTATO CASSEROLE

Ingredients:
Potatoes:
9 cups Sweet Potatoes, Cooked and Mashed
3 cups Sugar
½ tbsp Salt
3 Eggs (beaten)
½ tbsp Vanilla Extract

Topping:
3 cups Brown Sugar (packed)
1 cup Flour
3 cups Chopped Walnuts
½ cup Butter (melted)

Directions:
1. In a large mixing bowl combine: sweet potatoes, sugar, salt, egg, milk and vanilla. Stir well and set aside.
2. Combine the brown sugar, flour, pecans and butter in a bowl and mix well.
3. Spread sweet potato mix into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle top with brown sugar mix. Cover and freeze.
4. When needed, remove pan from freezer
5. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

GIUSEPPI’S
EGGPLANT ROLLENTINI

Ingredients:
Eggplant:
1 large firm Eggplant (pealed & sliced)
1 cup Flour (to coat Eggplant)
9 Eggs
2 cups of Parmigiana Cheese
1 tbsp Granulated Garlic
¼ cup Fresh Parsley
Olive Oil

Cheese Mixture:
2 cups Ricotta Cheese
½ cup Romano Cheese
½ cup Fresh Diced Basil
2 tbsp Toasted Almond Slices

Topping:
½ cup Mozzarella Cheese
2 cups Marinara Sauce

Directions:
1. Peal and slice eggplant, the long ways (approx. 1/8 inch thick).
2. Press slices into plain all purpose flour and set aside.
3. Mix eggs, parmigiana cheese, garlic and fresh parsley together.
4. Dip eggplant into cheese egg batter slide against side on bowl to remove some of batter.
5. Add olive oil to heated skillet and fry eggplant 3 minutes on each side until golden. Drain on paper towel.
6. In a separate bowl mix ricotta and romano cheese. Add basil and toasted sliced almonds.
7. Drop 2 TBSP of cheese mixture at the end of a egg plant slice and roll up loosely.
8. Line up egg plant rolls in a baking dish and cover with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese
9. Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes.

FINN MCCOOL’S
ROASTED BUTTERNUT SQUASH BISQUE

Ingredients:
5 Large Butternut squash (peeled & seeded) diced
4 Large Carrots (peeled) diced
2 large Sweet Potatoes (peeled) diced
2 Spanish Onions (peeled) dice
3 Sage leaves (fresh)
5 Basil Leaves (fresh)
6 cups of vegetable stock
4 cups heavy cream
Salt and Ground Pepper to taste
Pinch of Cinnamon, Ground Ginger & Coriander.

Directions:
1. Roast all vegetables (squash, carrots, potatoes, onions and olives) until tender.
2. Season with sage, basil, salt & pepper.
3. Add vegetable stock, heavy cream, cinnamon, ground ginger and coriander.
4. Bring to a boil and simmer gently for 15-20 minutes.
5. Puree until your desired consistency.

*Optional: Top w/ dollop of cream and a fresh mint leaf.

THE OLDE STONE MILL’S
CHICKEN POT PIE

Ingredients:
4 Skinless, Boneless Chicken Breast cubed
2 cups Heavy Cream
1 gallon Chicken Stock
2 medium Carrots diced
3 large Celery stalks diced
1 large Onion chopped
1 cup Frozen Peas
½ lb. of Butter
½ cup of Flour
2 large Potatoes cubed
½ bunch chopped Parsley
½ bunch chopped Thyme
Salt & Pepper to taste
Olive Oil
3 store-bought Pie Crusts

Directions:
1. Add olive oil to a hot saucepan, brown chicken.
2. Remove chicken and cook onions until soft and translucent. Add celery, potatoes and carrots, then cook until tender.
3. Add thyme and parsley and add in the browned chicken that has now been cubed. Stir in butter, flour, salt & pepper.
4. Slowly add chicken stock and heavy cream.
5. Simmer over medium-low heat until thick, cook for 1 hour, add frozen peas.
6. Ladle into 24 oz crock bowls.
7. Roll out pie crusts and cut out 6 crusts for each of your crock bowls and place over the bowls.
8. Place bowls on a foil lined baking sheet and bake at 400°F for 25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and the filling is bubbling. Let cool for at least 5 minutes before serving.

HANNAH & MASON’S
CHRIS’ BANGIN’ BUTTERNUT SQUASH SOUP

Ingredients:
1 cup Onion, small dice
½ cup Celery, small dice
2 tbsp Whole butter
¼ cup Melted butter
2 tbsp Olive oil
3 ½ lbs. Butternut squash
3 tbsp Cinnamon, ground
½ cup Brown sugar
6 cups Chicken stock
Salt and pepper   to taste
¼ cup Maple syrup

Directions:
1. Split and seed butternut squash. Place on sheet pan and brush with melted butter, sprinkle cinnamon, brown sugar and salt and pepper on top. Roast in 350 degree oven for 40 minutes, or until tender when pierced with fork.
2. While squash is roasting, sweat onions and celery in butter and olive oil for about 10 minutes over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper.
3. Add chicken stock and bring to a simmer.
4. When squash is roasted and cool enough to handle (can be done 1 day ahead) scoop out flesh and add to simmering soup.
5. Let soup cook for about 25 min. Puree with hand blender and strain soup. Adjust seasoning and add pure maple syrup.

HANDLEBAR’S
CHERRY BREAD PUDDING

Ingredients:
3 loaves French bread cute into 1" cubes
12 oz. white chocolate chips
12 large eggs
1-1/4 cups sugar
1tbs. vanilla extract
1 qt heavy cream
3 cups whole milk
2 jars cherry preserves

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. In a large bowl combine eggs, sugar and vanilla. Whisk well then add heavy cream and milk.
3. In a separate bowl pour melted white chocolate chips over bread and mix. Allow to stand for 15 minutes.
4. Spray two half pans and evenly portion egg mixture and bread/chocolate chips in them.
5. Top each pan with one jar of cherry preserves.
6. Bake for 50-60 minutes. Allow to cool before slicing each pan into 8 portions.

CAMPANIA’S
EGGPLANT CAPONATA

This is a great spread to dab on sandwiches, spoon it on to crusty bread with olive oil, or place it alongside just about anything you’re eating.

Ingredients:
Approx. ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
1 medium size eggplant, cut into ¼ inch dice, skin left on
1 medium size green zucchini, cut into ¼ inch dice
1 red pepper, cut into ¼ inch dice
½ Spanish onion, cut into ¼ inch dice
1 cup good olives, pitted and cut in half (kalamata, cerignola, calabrese, etc.)
1/3 cup capers (rinsed, preferably salt packed)
½ cup honey
1/3 cup red wine vinegar
1 ½ tsp cocoa powder
4-5 basil leaves cut into ribbons
Salt & pepper to taste

Directions:
1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large sauté pan over medium high heat until very hot.
2. Add eggplant and cook, stirring frequently, until edges just begin to turn brown around edges. Remove from heat and transfer to a baking sheet until cool.
3. Add another 2 tablespoons of oil to the pan and heat until very hot. Sauté the zucchini just until edges begin to turn brown around edges (don’t allow the zucchini to cook to the point in which it no longer holds its shape).   Transfer to a baking sheet until cool.
4. Add another 2 tablespoons of oil to the pan and sauté the peppers and onions just until cooked throughout (do not brown). Transfer to the baking sheet until cool.
5. Wipe the sauté pan clean and add the vinegar and honey. Cook over high heat until reduced by 1/3 of its original volume. Remove from heat.
6. Combine the cooked vegetables in a bowl and add the olives, capers, honey-vinegar mixture, cocoa powder and basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste. The caponata should have a good balance of acidity and sweetness. Adjust with more honey or vinegar as needed.

*Optional – For a nice addition of texture and flavor, add a handful of toasted pine nuts to the caponata.

Idol Gives Back Grants Over 64 Million To U.S. and International Charities

Fan of Abdul Found Dead Near 'Idol' Judge's Home

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Authorities have identified the woman found
dead outside "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul's house as a fan
and one-time show contestant.

The woman, Paula Goodspeed, was found dead outside Abdul's house
Tuesday evening, authorities said. The Los Angeles County Coroner's
office says relatives identified her body Wednesday morning.

Goodspeed tried out for the fifth season of "American Idol,"
but the judges rejected her rendition of "Proud Mary."

Relatives of the 30-year-old reported her missing Tuesday
afternoon. Police suspect her death was a suicide, though no
official cause of death has been determined.

Abdul was not home when the woman was found, but released a
statement saying she was "deeply shocked and saddened."

FOX ORDERS FULL SEASON OF THE CLEVELAND SHOW

FOX has ordered an additional nine episodes of THE CLEVELAND SHOW, the highly anticipated FAMILY GUY spin-off, bringing the series to a full season order, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, President, Entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company. Additionally, Arianna Huffington has been tapped for a recurring role and joins previously announced series regulars Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long, Kevin Michael Richardson, Mike Henry and Seth MacFarlane.

“FOX picking up nine more episodes of our show is proof that an African-American can make it in this country,” said Cleveland Brown. “This is a milestone for the United States of America.”

THE CLEVELAND SHOW, set to debut fall 2009, is a new animated series that follows everyone’s favorite soft-spoken neighbor CLEVELAND BROWN (voiced by Henry) to his hometown in Virginia, as he settles down with his high school sweetheart, DONNA (voiced by Lathan), and her unruly kids ROBERTA (voiced by Long) and 5-year-old RALLO (voiced by Henry), as well as his own 14-year-old son, CLEVELAND JR (voiced by Richardson). Once in Virginia, Cleveland is welcomed by a collection of neighbors that includes a loudmouth redneck, LESTER (voiced by Richardson); a hipster wanna-be, HOLT; and a family of talking bears, including TIM (voiced by MacFarlane) and his wife ARIANNA (voiced by Huffington).

The scare-ific tricks continue in “How to Get Ahead in Dead-Vertising” when Homer accidentally kills Krusty and is enlisted by the clown’s crooked lawyer to kill other celebrities so their likenesses can be exploited free-of-charge. Meanwhile in Heaven, Krusty convinces dead celebrities to stage a revolt and descend upon Homer. In the final Halloween scare, “It’s the Grand Pumpkin, Milhouse,” Lisa accompanies Milhouse to a pumpkin patch to await the appearance of the Grand Pumpkin, who ends up going on a rampage to avenge all pumpkins carved and tortured in the name of Halloween. For November, FOX has a special extended episode of HOUSE scheduled for November 25, which will air until 9:07pm and FRINGE will slide and end at 10:07pm this one night only.

For December, the schedule for SECRET MILLIONAIRE has changed slightly, with all Wednesday and Thursday episodes moving to 8:00pm, and the two Thursday episodes shifting to 12/11 and 12/18. Original episodes of ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER will air on Thursdays leading out of SECRET MILLIONAIRE.

Fox Uncovers Full Season Of New Hit Drama FRINGE

FOX has ordered an additional nine episodes of the critically acclaimed thriller FRINGE, bringing the series to a full season order, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, President, Entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company.

“We're having a blast working on this show with this great team of producers and amazing cast,” said Reilly. “The series has really taken off creatively, and it's exciting to see that the audience is responding. We believe this is the first full season of many years to come.”

FRINGE has captivated audiences this fall, winning its Tuesday time period weekly among key demographics and ranking as the No. 1 new series in primetime among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens. On Tuesday, Sept. 30, FRINGE dominated its time period by posting a 4.3/11 among Adults 18-49, which was an increase over the previous week’s airing by +5% (vs. 4.1/10), and growing +6% in Total Viewers (10.0 vs. 9.4 million).

On Tuesday, Oct. 14 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), FRINGE returns with a high-voltage episode as the unlikely trio investigates the cause of a fatal elevator accident that had some very unusual circumstances. They discover a connection to a dangerous man whose developing abilities point to a bigger threat. Meanwhile, Olivia has a highly charged encounter of her own when she is rocked by someone from her past, and Dr. Bishop turns to a methodology Peter thinks is for the birds to help break the case.

Peter Griffin: Cleveland has a team named after him already?! We’ve been on the air for ten freakin’ years, and I can’t even get a fantasy team to take the name “Peter Griffins.” Good luck with the new show, buddy! My pick: Browns.

Houston Texans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Homer Simpson: I overheard a guy saying he thinks “Jacksonville could win it all this year.” I also heard the same guy say “Get away from me, Homer!” and “Quit listening to me, or I’ll punch you.” So, clearly this guy knows what he’s talking about. My pick: Jacksonville.

Denver Broncos vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Homer Simpson: Kansas City has good barbecue. Denver has good skiing. So I guess what we have here is the age-old debate of barbecue versus skiing – and barbecue always wins. My pick: Kansas City.

Atlanta Falcons vs. Carolina Panthers

Homer Simpson: Even though both cities playing have names that end with “a,” Atlanta would come first in a phone book (according to Lisa), and as anyone knows, the phone book lists things by how good they are. Like the “AAAA Pizza” we always order from, and the “AAAAAA Dentist” we send the kids to. So, until Atlanta plays Arizona, stick with the best. My pick: Atlanta.

Arizona Cardinals vs. New York Jets

Stan Smith (AMERICAN DAD): John McCain is as Arizona as it gets, and even with his broken arms I’d still trust him on the field over Favre the flip-flopper. My pick: Cardinals.

San Francisco 49ers vs. New Orleans Saints

Stan Smith: I never understood why San Francisco even has a team. The whole town’s out buying Capri pants and leather sandals. Who’s even got time for football? Harry Connick-town, it is. My pick: Saints

Green Bay Packers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Hank Hill: I think the Buccaneers are gonna send Green Bay packing. Heh heh. FOX should get me to do the pre-game show. My pick: Tampa Bay.

Homer Simpson: Two of the top-rated defenses in the league face-off against each other. You know what that means…BO-RING! This game will be lamer than watching two clergymen exchange oatmeal recipes. Oh, wait…it’s on FOX. Forget what I said, it’s gonna be awesome! My pick: Minnesota.

San Diego Chargers vs. Oakland Raiders

Hank Hill: Silver and black versus powder blue and yellow. Sounds like the Terminator versus the Avon Lady. But that being said, I’ve got to go with the Avon Lady. My pick: San Diego.

Buffalo Bills vs. St. Louis Rams

Stan Smith: Two of the finest, most beautiful and dynamic American cities are on display here: Buffalo and St. Louis. But you know who has bills ultimately? Ducks. And if you’re ducking in football, you’re missing the ball. You win games by catching balls, not ducking out of the way. You know what I mean, friends? They’ll be celebrating on the Arch after this one. My pick: St. Louis.

Washington Redskins vs. Dallas Cowboys

Hank Hill: This is obviously the game of the week! Anybody think the Redskins are gonna beat the Cowboys? Now that’s fantasy football. My pick: Dallas.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Chicago Bears

Peter Griffin: The only thing on the rise for the Eagles this season is Andy Reid’s cholesterol, and a visit to Chicago sure isn’t going to help. What happens in Chicago doesn’t stay in Chicago, Andy. It usually gets clogged in your left ventricle. My pick: Bears.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Homer Simpson: Another game? Seriously, how many of these are there? And this one is between two places I’ve never heard of. If you have something serious to discuss, I’ll be drunk in my hammock. My pick: None.

Audrina Patridge, star of “The Hills,” will make a special guest appearance on an all-new episode of MADtv Saturday, Sept. 20 on FOX. In the hilarious sketch “Audrina Brings the Drama,” Patridge visits the set and within a matter of minutes, turns the MADtv cast members against each other and raises late-night drama to new levels.

Patridge made her small-screen debut in 2005 as the fun and outgoing friend on the MTV series, “The Hills,” a reality show documenting the lives of four young girls trying to make their mark in Los Angeles. She recently completed production on her first film, “Into the Blue 2: The Reef,” starring opposite Chris Carmack and Laura Vandervoort. Originally from Downey, CA, Patridge now lives in Los Angeles.

Patridge also makes a guest appearance as a patron of “The Inn,” one of New York City’s hottest and hippest hotels, on an episode of the new FOX comedy DO NOT DISTURB Wednesday, Sept. 17.

New 4th American Idol Judge!!!

Contestants on American Idol's eighth season will get critiqued by four judges instead of three.

Fans of idol will see a new face on the judges table this year....

Award-winning songwriter and producer Kara Dioguardi (dee-oh-guard-dee) will round out the judge's panel this season.

Dioguardi says she was shocked when she got the call to be on the show.

Dioguardi says: "When they told me I was the judge, I just didn't believe it. I still don't believe it. I don't even know what I'm doing here right now. I'm just trying to enjoy it and trying to take it one day as it comes, because it is a big change for me."

Dioguardi is no stranger to idol...
She's helped write songs for past Idol winners and contestants like Kelly Clarkson and Katherine Mcphee.
Dioguardi has also worked with superstars like Christina Aguilera and Gwen Stefani.

She brings years of experience to the table....
And a little bit of fire.

Dioguardi says: "I'm also very opinionated and pretty feisty and not afraid of a good confrontation, so I'm looking forward to it. Bring it on."

So what does Dioguardi think about her "soon-to-be" co-workers?

Dioguardi says: "Paula brings a lot because shes sold many records, she's performed; she knows how hard it is to be an artist and actually turn that dream into reality.

Dioguardi says: "Randy has just got so much great energy and when he speaks to the contestants he's coming from a very knowledgeable place. He's been a great, is a great musician. He's been out on the road, so he knows what it takes to be a huge superstar."

Dioguardi says: "Simon. Simon is pretty much dead on. He kinda calls it like he sees it. I like that about him. He's very honest; he's funny."

Click stars Adam Sandler as harried workaholic, Michael Newman doesn’t have time for his wife (Kate Beckinsale) and children, not if he’s to impress his ungrateful boss and earn a well-deserved promotion.
