Pennsylvania State Police respond to domestic dispute in Conestoga Township in Lancaster County

The suspect was taken into custody and transported to Lancaster General Hospital for further evaluation.

CONESTOGA, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police responded to a domestic incident Friday at 12:22 p.m. 

Troopers from the Lancaster Station were dispatched to the 600 Block of Sand Hill Road in Conestoga Township on reports of a domestic dispute.

Upon arrival, the suspect allegedly retreated into the residence with a weapon. 

Surrounding residences were advised to shelter in place and the roadway was shut down. 

The Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team (SERT), as well as the Aviation Unit, were requested and responded to the scene as well. 

Members of the SERT team made contact with the male inside the residence and he was taken into custody. He was taken into custody and transported to Lancaster General Hospital for treatment and a mental health evaluation. 

The investigation is still ongoing.
