One confirmed dead in York shooting

Authorities say Lykeem Bethune, 26, died after a shooting in York Sunday afternoon.

YORK, Pa. — Update, Sept. 12: According to Captain Daniel Lentz with the York City Police Department, the man left in critical condition following York's Sunday afternoon shooting has died.

Lykeem Bethune, 26, has been identified as the victim of the shooting. He died at WellSpan York Hospital at 3:05 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

At this time, the cause of death has not been announced.

Previously: Police are investigating a shooting that left one person in critical condition in York Sunday afternoon.

First responders were dispatched to the corner of East Jackson Street and South Court Avenue just before 3:30 p.m. for a reported shooting.

Authorities say when they arrived on scene, they found a 26-year-old man who had sustained a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he is in critical condition.

York City Police have not released any information on a potential suspect.
